3Point Machine maintains an engineering and development staff providing full-service support to our customers. We take your design from a simple concept to developing prototypes and eventually on to full scale production. Our team consists of the industry’s best individuals located right in metro Detroit, the heart of the automotive industry.

Program Management
Our program management staff is task oriented and well versed in the APQP methodology. We employ a high energy, friendly group of people who will work side by side with you to see to it that all strict project deadlines, usually present in the fast paced automotive industry, are met.

CAD (Computer Aided Design)

Our CAD staff consists of designers that are heavily experienced in the metalcasting, suspension component industry. Not only are they able to design your components around the customer supplied data, they also keep DFM (design for manufacturability) in mind throughout the process.

We pride ourselves in designing our own casting tooling in-house. This gives us a competitive edge, allowing us to reduce lead-time throughout the product development phase.

CAE (Computer Aided Engineering)
Our CAE staff utilizes cutting-edge technology to quickly and accurately analyze your components for stress, stiffness, fatigue, and modal frequencies. Utilizing ADAMS outputs or actual road loading data, we can optimize your design to fit the customer’s acceptance criteria.

PROCESS MODELING
This engineering tool gives us the ability to simulate the casting process on your component before we even cut tooling. We can accurately predict how the casting will solidify and optimize the geometry so you get a perfect casting, shrink and porosity-free, every time.
